DJGPP being annoying?

Post by St8ic »

I can't seem to get djgpp's gcc.exe (say THAT three times fast) to find environment to work. It keeps saying:

"environment variable DJGPP points to missing file 'D:\download\gcc\djgpp.env'"

but that file is actualy there! Does anyone else use djgpp? How do I fix it?

Thanks alot!

Not sure if this will help:

make a batch file called djgpp.bat or whatever:

@echo off
set PATH=c:\djgpp\bin;%PATH%
set DJGPP=c:\djgpp\djgpp.env
chdir c:\djgpp\mystuff
command

for the directory mystuff is the directory in witch your files are
just run the batch and compile ;)

IIRC, you have to use forward slashes in the DJGPP variable, e.g.:
SET DJGPP=c:/djgpp/djgpp.env

I tried both with no effect. Anyone else have this problem?

as www.fishsoft.tk said...
do the settings and then execute the gcc compiler without closing the command prompt window. make sure path settings are correct. ie. open the command prompt window then run the batch file of settings on the prompt then type gcc and go...

I tried that, but it still says that the path to djgpp.env is invalid.

(of course I changed it to where it is on my computer)

Anyone have gcc.exe?

Post by St8ic »

I think I got it, but I just need the file gcc.exe again because I lost it. Could anyone send it to me?

Just do a search on google for djgpp and download gcc from their site. It should be in binutils but Im not for sure.

In order for us to send you a new version of gcc, we need to know what version you are currently using.

I found gcc, but it gives me some **** about how it can't execute "as". I looked everywhere but I still can't find *.as or as.* or anything else that could be that "as" thing.

Maybe I didn't install binutils correctly. How did you do it?
