What's a PDAI? And what does CST mean? I guess it's a time zone, but it doesn't mean a lot to me -- what time is it GMT?

Central Standard Time. Means they're a Yank.

GMT (The one true timezone ;)) would be 1:30pm.

Are you sure that's not 1:30 am, seeing as the Americans are behind the British?

Doh! Back to primary school for me. Now repeat, the sun rises in the east...the sun rises in the east... :-[

Bloody inconsiderate time to have it if you aren't on that continent. I'm all for OS developers chatting, but I (And probably the rest of Europe/Eastern Asia) am not going to be on good form at that time of the morning.

Time Zones
Thats always been the big problem with a having meeting across countrys. A large part of the amateur os development community does live over seas, at least alot of them i know but so does a large percentage in the USA.
As a answer and already thought solution, you may join that channel at any time you like however the true conference will only be with-in that 24HR period before 7:30PM CST and after 7:30PM. I am sure alot of you will join a good bit late and alot a good bit early primarly because you are going to be in bed or work at that time so you will still be able to meet many people in the same hobbiest field.

Ideas/Partners/Friends
The biggest factor we are hopeing for is some people walking away with some new ideas, partners, and friends to talk to and work with. This will help the public's education on developing large or small systems for a variety of platforms not limited just to the x86.

Personal Digital Assistant Insider
PDAI, is the group that holds numerous large discussions for Personal Digital Assistant devices and gives the inside scoop on whats new and hot - hence the pdaI.

Developers
The lead developer for HFMOS and quite a few others are planning on showing up if possible. So grab a cup of coffee and a confortable chair mabye just for a few mins or all day and enjoy as a gift from us as www.pdai.org

That's a very George Bush statement -- that sentence means "a lot of people live elsewhere". In fact, 100% of the amateur OS development community would consider themselves to be not living overseas.

Excuse me for picking holes in peoples posts but I am bored. Keep up the good work.

Hint to all (even if my internet experience givesme the impression it's a typical US people problem):

Whenever you give a time on the internet, be kind and give GMT times, at least in addition to local time.

People usually know their GMT2local offset - at least at a better chance than knowing what the XYZ offset is at this time of the year. You have an easy time giving GMT, and the others have an easy time figuring out local time.

Giving just local time requires everyone to look up your timezone offset, probably getting it wrong by 1-2 hours...
Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.

The Weather!
Yeah. How interesting it would be to just discuss the weather at a amateur operating system development conference but hopefully it will not ever come to that!
Time
The good part about the time is if you are a hour or few early or a hour or few late you are bound to still meet many interesting people. I am hopeful that not everyone will join and part at the exact same time. I am hopeful that people will be able to join and have fun. The actualy room will stay open for a 24HR period before 07:30PM-CST/1:30AM-GMT and after allowing some of you to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or a afternoon after work chat online.
Extras
Alot of people who come are also able to find extra resources to continue or start their own development in the realm of a operating system since this enables great forums such as Mega-Tokyo, Osdever.net, and many more to be shared along with many great sites for excellent tutorials and examples published by people such as Tim Robinson, John Fine, and many others.
You would be surprised how many people are trying hard to find a example or tutorial more suited for them to explain memory managment, tasking, and many others but simply do not know they exist. :-* Publicity for these great sites and areas where the great people who pioneer the way are a must!

Awsome, i'm sure thats 1.30am here in England.

Most coders (including myself) tend to do most of their work in the early hours anyway.

5th Oct... thats sunday evening... work on monday morning... *thinks to himself* ahhh what the heck i'll be there.

Yours forever,
