I will need to make a decision soon on what libc to use as I start writing some modules for my kernel. These kernels will run in kernel space but I want to compile them without using any dependencies on the kernel, i.e. not using the kernels printf functions for example.
So, looked at glibc....woah!
uClibc...looks interesting and maybe not too difficult to modify. Same with dietlibc.
But are there any libc's which are kinda "empty" read for me to fill in the calling code for open() etc???? I don't want all this linux cruft in there to remove.
Any ideas?
PS. Currently I only need inb/outb/printf...so I could code my own, but it will become HUGE work quickly.

Re:Libc
http://sources.redhat.com/newlib/ is a LibC designed for embedded system so it is simpleish. I think it is OS independant so you just have to add the OS dependant functions in. Is this what you want?
