Hello OSDev community,
I'd like to introduce HavenDOS, an experimental 32-bit x86 operating system that I'm developing independently under Tech Haven Studios.
HavenDOS is written from scratch in C and Assembly and uses a monolithic kernel. The project focuses on low-level operating system development, hardware interaction and building a usable text-based environment.
Current release: 0.8.8.1 – Helios (Beta)
Some implemented features include:
32-bit x86 monolithic kernel
Text-mode console environment
PS/2 mouse support and registered USB HID mouse support
USB device detection
Read-only exFAT volume support
Persistent console grid settings
Built-in system utilities
Experimental hardware detection
Testing
The current release documentation reports 4,062 suite checks and 32 QEMU boot checks. These are software test results, not a claim of compatibility with all physical hardware.
HavenDOS is still under active development. Some features remain incomplete, and hardware compatibility testing is ongoing.

I'd appreciate feedback from other OS developers, especially regarding kernel design, hardware support and potential compatibility issues.
Thanks for reading!

Why is your source code in a .zip?
Re: HavenDOS 0.8.8.1 – 32-bit x86 hobby operating system written in C and Assembly
So people can DOWNLAOD it easier and to save Resources

Git already compresses deltas when you clone a repo. And this way we don't get the histories of the files. This is not how you're supposed to use git. Plus I highly doubt your OS is that huge already.
Carpe diem!

It isn’t even that big it’s hobby maybe 10/20 users max, I’m doing the source upload when home from work. If you wanna try HavenDOS use the download on Website and use qemu or smth similar
Re: HavenDOS 0.8.8.1 – 32-bit x86 hobby operating system written in C and Assembly
That makes no sense. GitHub already has an option to download a zip of a repository, if you want to, and is far more efficient when updating versions. It also allows people to browse a single source file without having to download everything. Git is far less resource intensive than single zip files.

Okay, I’ll do later but my source folder has more then 100 files so GitHub won’t do it bc to many files

There’s no limit to the number of files in a GitHub repository, and little limit on the repository size, but for more than 100 files you may need to use the cli command rather than GitHub’s web interface. I’d always use the cli commands anyway as it’s much easier than drag and dropping loads of files and more easily automated to single commands.
