Cannot build gcc because building requires gmp 4.1+ etc.

Post by LFWer250 »

I was trying to install gcc following this tutorial when i ran into an issue when I ran the configure file it threw the error 'Building GCC requires GMP 4.2+, MPFR 3.1.0+ and MPC 0.8.0+. Try the --with-gmp, --with-mpfr and/or --with-mpc options to specify' I am running the latest version of ubuntu. Any help woud be appreciated. Thank you! :D

Of course I find the issue seconds after posting. I was missing some prerequisites that caused it to not work. Sorry

Happens to me sometimes too, you shouldn't worry much IMO. :)
Hey! I'm developing two operating systems:

NanoShell --- A 32-bit operating system whose GUI takes inspiration from Windows 9x and early UNIX desktop managers.
Boron --- A portable SMP operating system taking inspiration from the design of the Windows NT kernel.
