if i typed in html in a post. like if i hit reply, then in there type in html, would it show up the stuff it should?

Well html isn't allowed in a message board, if you typed html in a message board nothing would happen. The board censors html to make sure people can't screw up the board.
Of course the only downfall is that some html might be nice... just not all of it.
So the answer is no, you can't use html in the board.

but with the quote, it uses html. right? same with bold and stuff. its using html to make your letters bold or italic and stuff.hmmm. wierd.

you can still use the bracketed markup language for bolding, and italics and such.
