Hello,
I have an old monochrome game boy with a few tapes for it. I would like to play them on my computer. I have a working emulator for game boy tapes images.
Since I saw a lot of legal sites on the Internet that provided images of game boy tapes for free, I though it was legal. And after all, its for my personal use, on my computer, with my own game boy tapes, anyway.
My problem is that I didn't find images of my tapes on these sites. So I would like to know how they copy the games from the tapes to a computer.

Downloading ROMs isn't exactly legal but ripping them would probably come under the "you may make a backup" clause. As how to rip them, you need a cartridge reader, I think you can buy them from Nintendo but they aren't cheap

It's illegal to download games even if you do own them.
As for making copies, there is no "you may make a backup" clause for nintendo games. If you read the instruction books it says making copies or archivals of it is illegal. All nintendo systems games say this, not just specific games, so you can't make copies since it is illegal.
So either way this is all illegal, so I will lock this.
