Heh, I personally don't think English is really suitable for anything in particular, jack of all trades and master of none as it were. But then what do you expect from a language mangled together from countless others?

It's good for everyday interactions and suchlike, I'll give it that, but there's a lot of redundancy, conflicting meanings and things like that that manage to cause confusion even then. Plus, once you get further than everyday interactions, say for example expressing how you feel to that special someone, there aren't actually that many words to choose from so everything has a tendency to sound the same.
I'm not saying any other language is any better, just making observations. Anywho, it's my primary language and I wouldn't trade it for any other (except I'm attempting to learn Mandarin, Russian, Thai...). ;D
