Everything was so "united" that days. For example the general store had it's name "Jednota", which means "unity". And yes, I'm talking in singular, there weren't much general stores with a different name. When you wanted to buy shoes, you did go in a store called "SHOES", and I've read and seen photos back from the communist era (1968-1989), where you had to wait IN LINE early mornings to buy meat.
