GRUB

I'm new to OS dev. I'm using GRUB to boot my kernel but grub says it's to big to load. My system has 256MB of RAM and the kernel is only 12.1KB.

I should mention that when I first started coding it, it worked fine, but now GRUB refuses to load my kernel.

What could I have done to make this happen other than adding extra code to my kernel.

Adding code shouldn't be the problem... Unless you added some "bad" code...

I think it's cause I modified my make file. I now pass the -N flag to ld, becuase ld say's they isn't enough room for some kinda header other wize.

maybe some code has been generated *before* the multiboot header ...

Or maybe he's missed to tell the linker to reserve some rodata section or something similar wth the *.ld script.

How do you link the files together? Make sure the file containing the multiboot header gets linked first!
