DarkOS is a non-Linux OS made from scratch, there is ABSOLUTELY NO LINUX KERNEL, NO BUSYBOX OR ANY BSD KERNELS. This runs KDE Plasma 6.7 with Wayland with OpenRC, and works on real hardware (non-CSM/CSM, BIOS/UEFI), and qemu. Sadly, it doesn’t work in VirtualBox and VMware (VMware isn’t tested yet, but I don’t know if it actually works or not, if someone could test it for me, share the results for me.) It’s installable, but the installation script doesn’t use Calamares (or any GUI Installers) to keep the iso lightweight. The installation script will detect which drive to install to, however, sometimes it needs you to type the correct drive, since sometimes it couldn’t detect perfectly. It has a initramfs, rootfs and a package manager (backed by Alpines repositories). It has some bugs but report them here if you caught one.

Edit: Found Linux kernel but i’m no longer maintaining it anymore. Thank you to anyone who used DarkOS. The real claim that it doesn’t use busybox, it uses a custom shell made by myself.

You are, in fact, using a Linux kernel.

Moving this to General Programming as it is quite clearly a distribution of Alpine and not an independent OS project.
