Is it just me or is it a little overzealous at the moment? I'm getting the verification page on every visit, which is a bit tiresome.

Not just you and not just this site either. It already used to be quite frequent on most sites for me, but it's also pretty much on every visit at this point.

I do get this on a few other sites, but not so intrusive as here. It’s a real disincentive to visit.

I experience this as well. I also get the Cloudflare page at every visit, and sometimes get logged out as well. Maybe a reaction to another spam or DDOS incident?

When I just opened the website, Cloudflare was going nuts. It kept reloading the blocking page several times for about two minutes, telling me that my browser is banned in the meantime, asking me to reload manually, then loading again partially and reloading again before it was complete... Until I finally got in. I don't think this is normal, expected behavior.
FWIW, this is Firefox 147.0.2 on Ubuntu 24.04.

Hello humans and human impersonators.
New user. I am happy to be here. I just wished to share that I had troubles getting in and even viewing anything due to cloudfare. But I sorta found out why.
I clicked the FAQ or the 'why cant I get in?' link or whatever it was. One of the usual bland reasons was 'Unsupported browser'. And I thought - unsupported browser? Really?
Turns out they're quite specific. You can only have the main version or two older versions of chrome/firefox/safari or whatever. So using Pepe's Browser Of Choice gets ya locked out.
And you're not allowed old OSes. But you're allowed Samsung's browser

Cloudflare's logic to determine if a user is a "bot" is basically just:
Code: Select all
if (userAgent != 'Google Chrome') { annoyUser() }
Anyway, I would recommend to replace this BS with something like go-away.
