Could someone add a Delete button next to posts? The little red X that used to be there has disappeared, and I can't delete my posts when necessary.

No.

You shouldn't delete your posts; it destroys the continuity of a thread.

Its there for me. Perhaps they added it back?

In any case, I am with gravaera here. If its the first post in a thread with no replies, or the last reply in a thread then it does not "destroy the continuity of a thread".

Well, if it's a problem with the administration, I won't push. I just thought that they made a mistake, or hadn't noticed. *Shrug*. For better or for worse, though, it would be a great feature. I'd support it if there was some sort of poll, or something.

AFAIK the functionality is there. I just won't make specific efforts to reintroduce it if it's not.

No, I can't see a "Delete" button anywhere either. Not in the thread view, not in the edit view.

But you can always hit "Report" on your own post, select "Other" reason and give a one-liner so the mods know why you want it deleted.

That way, you don't make a habit from it, either. 8)

Well... I think then there'll be LOTS of reports...

Maybe you should allow to delete posts if there wasn't any new posts later?

UPDATE: I could see delete button..

There has been no change in the system. You can, and always could, delete your post if and only if it was the last one in a thread.

You can delete your post if you were the last one to make one.. and you just made it.. for example the post I made here has no options for deletion.

There must be a timeout, can you tell everyone what it is?

(Everyone loves pictures, #1 and #2)

Someone made a post afterwards and deleted it - but your post doesn't register as "last" post anymore? (Just guessing.)

It's there, I know it is.

Because I've used it recently, hehe..

I think it should stay the way it is, because you all know how a topic goes to hell when someone like Shrek/whutever quits and writes POST DELETED on half of his posts, removing the original content.

@Solar: I guess that makes sense, on some distant purple fuzzy alien world.

Brynet: I guess that the second picture occurred because of what Solar said, since phpBB3 does have a few/lot of (nameable) faults. But I agree, it is pretty strange. You'd think it would be something so each user can't successively delete their posts in order to remove a thread.

@Brynet: Those screenshots have just ruined your image - I for one had pictured you tapping away at Links :)
