NVIDIA Documentation
Is there any kind of documentation of the NVIDIA graphics cards?
I doubt that there is any official documentation released.
On the other hand, are there drivers for Linux for a particular NVIDIA card you're interested in? If so, are they open source? I know I read something about ATI not releasing their hardware interface information, but NVIDIA I don't know about.
It's a shame, but really I can't blame them if they don't.

binaries (at least the 3D things). But there is also the Nouvea Project, but I don't know how far they are.

Actually AMD did release specifications for their video hardware.
Afaik there is some information about older NVidia Hardware (2D things) floating around in the internet (and in the X.org drivers).

Yes. The Nouveau projects document their findings here. Another good source (at least for 2D) could be the Haiku nVidia driver. And also check the xorg nv driver page.
That said, I found these links in a five minute Google session. Next time, please use Google before posting such a question here.
