Hi,

Firstly, I like the new look of the Wiki - the organisation seems much better (not that there was much wrong with the information on the old one!).

Just a suggestion - how about making it so that on the main wiki page, new topics open up in a new tab by default?

I don't know if everyone uses it in the same way as I do, but it's often useful to have the contents page there, open up several tabs with relevant topics, and flick between them.

I know (I'm using IE7) that I could just right click and click 'Open in new tab...', but if lots of people feel the same, it could just be that bit more convenient :?:

Cheers,
Adam

Opening them by default in a new tab/window may get frustrating for users of browsers with no tab support.

(I use FireFox or Maxthon which opens a link in a new tab when it is clicked on by the middle mouse button anyway.)

Tabs or no tabs, I (and probably several other people) expect wiki to open up a link in the same window.

If people really need another one, just right click on it and select open in new window/tab (or aforementioned method).

If you're too lazy to go through the menu everytime you want to open a link you might just use ctrl+left-click or the middle-button of the mouse.

regards,
gaf

OK - maybe not, then! I didn't actually know about the middle button thing

I expect all links to open in the same window unless I tell them not to. Opening in _top is ok for escaping framesets (possibly your own). Don't open an external link in your frameset as a rule. Most of all, do NOT open new windows or tabs unasked for.

I'm all for the keep it like it is right now.
