I cast magic missile at this thread. The important questions have been answered and there's no need left to have a costume ball for trolls.

I really don't see the creation of these topics as being a big issue and certainly would not consider throwing the rulebook at anyone creating such questions. In fact, in one of these posts, the OP offers a reasonable explanation about why the topic was posted here.

Thanks for the timely and polite intervention.

LinuxQuestions.org is mostly about installing and uninstalling things on varieties of Linux. Majority of the regulars of that community aren't the kernel "developers". LQ does have a "Linux-kernel" section but if you look at it keenly you'll find that many of the threads there aren't solved, don't have detailed discussions and all.
Another problem (IMO) is that LQ is a "crowded" place. Usually you won't find regulars there explaining conceptual topics in much detail (excluding their programming section).

This forum deals with the general kernel "development", so I thought it is very much possible that the people here "might" be able to "hint" out something even when the question is related to Linux.

I do not expect anyone to write essays for me here. If they feel I should read the doc 'y' for the question 'x'. I'll surely do that and then pop in back again.

There is no shortage of appropriate Linux mailing lists. Technical discussions generally occur on them, or in private. So, If you're wanting Linux-specific information... go find one.
