Any chance you could reduce the dimensions of the logo (above)?
It kinda makes things a bit more tedious for those of us with small monitors.

It looks good for me... Thought, I agree one could really make it much smaller. :P

Is this small enough? ;)

If somebody is interested about the .xcf file for this image, please PM.

:) I've had the same logo since 2001, no other complaints before. I have gotten a couple of other logo submissions. I might have a logo contest in the future(maybe give away an OS development book).

I've re-arranged the forums so the general stuff is higher up like you suggested. Some time next week I'm going to look into creating mini versions of the 2 color themes I have already. They'd either have no or very small graphics. I have a Windows Mobile Phone that has a 320x240 screen and I'd like a to make the site fit better on smaller screens.

Yup the logo does look rather nice.
What I had meant was that it could be scaled down a bit so that it wouldn't take up most of the page or does scaling down make it look 'odd'?

The logo really isn't much larger than the navigation bar to its right. Skaling it probably wouldn't have any effect at all.

What could be done is reducing the white space above the actual messages. The thread's topic could for example be shown in the gray bar just below the buttons rather than at the top of the page.

regards,
gaf

I reduced the logo a bit and it removed some of the dead space. It was easier than moving the topic text. The messages start at almost exactly the same placement as on MT so I'm declaring it good enough for now.

Edit: Logo has the same name so refresh your browser cache if it doesn't look different.

Just out of curiosity, what desktop resolution is everyone running? My tablet (14.1" widescreen) uses 1400x900, and my desktop (19" CRT) uses 1280x1024. The logo looks fine on both, with ample room for everything else.

1280x1024 at work, 1280x800 at home. I found that the thread overview reads "osdev.org logo" (verbatim!) at the top... that looks like a malconfiguration. 8)

The 4 PCs i commonly work on (I kindof live between two addresses)
2x 1280x1024 (19" monitor), 2x 800x600 (due to old cards and 15" crts.)

I pretty much live on my laptop, 17" widescreen at 1920x1200. Probably why I didn't think the logo was big originally :)

Why can't I find a 19" screen with over 1680*1050 for normal desktop use? I'd need to buy a 20/21" at least to get that resolution.

I think because to most people it looks too small and Windows doesn't use SVG icons.
