Frankly, rather than a magazine, I would recommend a newsblog along the lines of OSnews or Lambda the Ultimate - mostly announcements, but with articles as the opportunity arises. Sort of a hobby counterpart to OSNews, as it were.

Monitor changes on the Wiki, best forum posts of the month, and r/osdev and make it a glossy PDF showing the best stuff you've found.
My OS is Perception.
