Job Opening: Kernel Dev in Australia

Post by WalkingBug14 »

We are seeking an individual with proven experience in kernel development.

We are an Australian startup. We have developed a new cloud-based kernel that supports all major hypervisors and platforms (KVM, VirtualBox, VMware, Google Cloud, Amazon etc.).

- Opportunity to innovate by re-imagining classic operating system architecture for a uniquely specialized kernel.
- Design and implement new kernel components.

Applicants may have the opportunity to work remotely, otherwise we can assist with the acquisition of a work visa in order to relocate to Australia and work alongside the team.

Please PM if you are interested.

The latest news in the Markov Wars, recruiting agents being replaced by chatbots. Film at 11.

Ah, in that case, perhaps you could post some information about the project.

As opposed to a list of unrelated buzzwords thrown into a big pile, as you did in your first post.

Like, team size (actual / projected), language, location ("Australia" is pretty big), ...

Without those data points, your "offer" is just noise. I cannot even begin to tell whether I would be qualified, or indeed interested.

While we're at it, I'd also like to know a ballpark figure of what you'd be paying, what kind of working hours you'd be expecting, and as you explicitly mentioned "startup", I'd also like to hear about your business plan on how you will finance those paychecks until your product "breaks even", and a kind of timeline as to when that would be and what the milestones would be (which would include a sneak peek at what kind of architecture you're envisioning).

I understand that you don't just post the answers to that last paragraph in a web forum. Let's just say that the quality of your initial post makes me suspect that you don't really have those answers...
Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.
