Same here. I
almost considered Computer Science for my University Degree, but didn't want to ruin a perfectly good hobby (besides the fact that I wanted something where I interact with the public more than CS would have allowed.

Do work as a professional programmer ??
Nope - I'm an Optometrist with my own practice and insomnia.

Become a TA for an introductory programming course . I help teach programming to children who have never programmed in their life - for them computers are all about facebook , youtube and google. I answer some of the dumbest programming questions. Many of them write in English and expect the compiler to 'understand' what they wrote. Helping them and watching them grow is a humbling experience

PS : I am not a moderator - btw all cs jobs need not be that socially isolated. It also has to deal with culture in general , I was a full time sw engineer and was friendly half of the people in the building
.But that is not how it is in many places
