Okay. I started this operating system just two minutes ago, and its name is STARTIUM (formerly StartOS - StartMAX). This is currently the first build of STARTIUM. It's just a message on QEMU, but I'll definitely continue this project. STARTIUM OS is an operating system that uses the NECT (New Extended Core Technology) kernel (the kernel, like OS, is my writing). My goal is to create a closed-source, popular, and unique operating system, just like Windows. Right now, I'm sketching in a small notebook how my operating system might look in the future. When the project was offically finished, i can maybe sell it. Wish me luck! Thanks. 8) :D Image

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share my hobby operating system project, AOS. It is designed as an educational, monolithic 64-bit kernel built
using agentic coding and some parts are hand written .

Current features implemented:
- Pure x86_64 long mode execution
- UEFI boot capability
- Dynamic memory management
- A custom networking stack (tested with e1000 emulation in QEMU)
- An interactive kernel shell interface

The build pipeline uses GCC, NASM, and custom linker scripts, bundled up with a run script to quickly launch an ISO image in QEMU.

This is my first time building a kernel. While it successfully boots via GRUB on bare-metal hardware, it currently lacks SATA support and several other standard storage drivers, which I plan to tackle next.

I would love to get any code reviews or constructive feedback on my architecture, especially regarding memory layout and network frame routing logic!

Thanks for looking!

Using a LLM to generate your OS is not "from scratch".

The new generation of LikeOS is now running xorg + ctwm, with bash, openssh and netsurf as you see in the screenshots. The code is in the github dev branch and will be soon commited to master after testing. LikeOS runs inside vmware, qemu, virtualbox and has been tested on real hardware, Lenovo Thinkpad P50 and Dell Pro 16 Plus notebooks. After building from the dev branch (and soon from the master branch) one can login into LikeOS with root:toor and launch xorg by typing startx. I am always looking for contributors, so if you want to introduce new code into LikeOS you can submit PRs, send patches or just drop me a note that you want to participate.

After weeks of struggling, I finally got the C kernel to work.

DISCLAIMER:
This OS is partly written using AI and does not contain any "slop" in it. This is purely a scientific and experimental project.

After days of relentless coding, the system got its code name. CPU and memory info are working.

Entered the GUI territory now. A Thunking Insane Extreme rollercoaster of days of coding and solving a plethora of errors, garbage, freezes and stuff.

The GUI currently looks almost the same as Windows 3.1 as of now. NeoOS did go through a lot of hassle.
