I wanted to post an update on my hobby OS. The latest version is almost self hosting, in the sense that everything from the kernel to 3rd party software ports can be downloaded, built and tested directly from within the OS, up to and including the creation of an ISO image. I still need to port efibootmgr and libefivars in order to be able to create bootable disk images though.
This version includes the following updates:
- Support for loopback devices.
- Support for FAT12/16 and VFAT filesystems.
- Symmetric Multiprocessing (SMP).
- More ported software, including GRUB and xorriso.
Please feel free to test it out, and I appreciate any feedback, comments or bug reports.
Cheers,
Mo
