I wonder why the poll feature is turned off, is there a reason for that?

They are just set so that only mods can start them. After looking at other sites I figured that the frequency of silly polls just distracted from other threads that had more value. I'll get with the other mods to see what their opnion about it is.

Half of the mods have already said that polls should be turned on so I'll go ahead and enable them for everyone.
