I came here to get information and discuss topics around operating system development. I don't give a **** about the gender behind the nicknames and honestly I don't need to know either. I also don't give a **** if women wants to get into operating system development or not, it is a personal choice and you can keep anonymous on the internet as long as you desire including not giving out your gender.

What I don't like is how this PC-bullshit infests everything including operating system development which is something that can't really be more androgyne than it is. Take your fucking PC-**** (political correctness, marxism, political ****) somewhere else. This is a purely technical forum so let's not destroy that too, ok. If you like that, file an application at Google and explain how PC you are.

IMO complaining about internet-borne socially-progressive overdramatizations of things (whatever your personal left-wing boogeyman is, whether it be the supposed infestation of "SJWs" or "PC marxists" or "socialist illuminati" or whomever you have a hate-on for) is worse than the actual, rare encounters one actually has with folks along those lines.

I can tell you for sure that I have heard a near infinitely higher number of people screeching erratically about how SJW libtard PC culture is going to ruin freedom of whatever than I have actually heard far left social justice advocates, well, doing anything like that. If everyone around you is an asshole, etc etc.

What on earth does Marxism have to do with not being a bigot? Unless you are referring to "cultural Marxism", a neo-Nazi conspiracy theory that Jewish academics want to destroy white people by making them weak with political correctness. OSwhatever, is it really your position that this is true?

Political correctness is simply having a certain base level of universal respect for your fellow humans. It is inseparable from any public forum of communication because it is a requirement for civil discussion in mixed company. Did you self-censor your post? You've got lots of ****s in it. Presumably you think that it isn't acceptable to use foul language that might cause offence, why do you think that it should be acceptable for you to cause offence with bigoted language? If it isn't self-censored, then maybe you simply aren't capable of discussing things in a mature way in a diverse group of people.

Consider.

Couldn't have said it better myself. This is an Off-Topic forum anyway (the hint is in the name). If you read the discussion, you will see there are views that do not conform to current PC thinking but they have been expressed in a way that fits in with the rest of the debate.

There are plenty of discussions on the forum both on and off topic that I'm really not interested in. I ignore them. If you aren't interested, don't post. If you are interested and have something to add to the discussion, great.

Let's not poison an otherwise interesting thread - I won't lock the thread based on diffrering views from someone on either side of the discussion. I will if it turns in to flaming.

Cheers,
Adam

I want to derail it. Take it to the highway. I'm sick with the PC-culture that has infested the IT industry. I'm angry how the business I work in has been infested with this crap. The original post was also meant to be provocative and make that an "intellectual discussion" is laughable. So here come with a "drunk" rant how I don't care about it which was morally superior compared to your fake intellectual PC dissertations.

Ah right. In a clearly titled thread in an area of the forum set aside for off-topic chat you want to prescribe what people can talk about. Are you part of the Spanish Inquisition?

And, for the record, I'm actually quite anti-PC - but only in so far as there are some PC-afficiandos who tend to display the very attitude that you present - a desire to suppress free speech. An attitude which has been manifestly lacking from the PC-ers here.

The problem is not that you choose to be firm with your opinion. There are problems with the "affirmative action", "equal opportunity vs equal outcome" and the extent to which the community and the hindered parties benefit from such policies. There is a lot that can be said about the proper way to improve the social balance. The issue is that you were unable to fasten your sentiments and thus were not being productive in any way. I wouldn't write in this thread anymore if it wasn't for you. Do you think that you accomplished your goals, by being so verbally offensive.

There will always be two sides to a debate plus people on both sides who think that the arguments on their side are so obvious that the debate is not worth having.

When the latter group try to stop the former by suppressing or disrupting the argument, that's when it becomes a problem. This is akin to a toddler wrecking someone else's Lego model because they don't want to play the same game. I'm equally aware that locking down a thread like this also gets people hot and bothered about freedom of speech (edit: which, incidentally, you do not have on a privately administered internet forum).

Either get back in to a reasonable debate on the topic or leave it and let it die, please.

Cheers,
Adam
